I am a Conference Committee Member with the Association for Training on Trauma and Attachment in Children (ATTACh). We are excited to announce that the 37th Annual ATTACh conference on childhood trauma and attachment will take place on Thursday, April 3 – Saturday, April 5, 2025 in Nashville, TN. This year’s conference theme is Healing Connections: Fostering Collaboration, Fueling Change, and we are honored that ATTACh has chosen to host this highly sought educational training conference in our area for parents and caregivers as well as professionals and staff from family and child-serving organizations and agencies.
Thousands of our nation’s children and youth continue to experience higher incidents of life-altering trauma which negatively impact their wellness and wellbeing. Mental health counseling, therapy or treatment by a professional trained to recognize and treat trauma in children is critical to assessing a child’s trauma and preparing them for a healing journey. ATTACh’s Healing Connections conference will help build the capacity and knowledge of mental health, occupational therapy and other areas necessary to help professionals and staff who provide treatment, education and care to children living with trauma, attachment, mental health or developmental disorders.
The conference also addresses the needs of parents, caregivers and families who have a child or youth who has experienced trauma. Often, these parents and caregivers feel isolated and as if no one else understands what they are going through. This conference is one of only a few nationwide gatherings of its kind with a TRACK especially for parents and caregivers where they can receive positive and affirming education, direct support, hands-on wellness/self-care strategies and a safe space to share their thoughts, while learning from professionals and networking with others whose lived experience may help them navigate through their child’s healing process.
