RFP Guidelines for Writing Behavioral Learning Objectives and Assessments

Please read the following to provide you with guidelines on writing behavioral learning objectives. Learning objectives in submitted proposals must follow these guidelines. ATTACh may request objectives not meeting these criteria to be rewritten and reworded by the submitter.

Tips

  • Use learning objectives to describe anticipated learning outcomes.
  • Learning objectives should not describe what the presenter intends to do or how the participant will learn.
  • Use action verbs and behaviorally specific wording that ensures the objective is observable and/or measurable.
  • Consider these phrases when writing: “After completing this workshop, participants will be able to…”
